Air Duct Cleaning San Diego
Just because you're indoors doesn't mean you're safe from all the pollutants outside. In fact, research has shown that the air inside the average American's home is more polluted than that of the air outdoors. This is because you bring pollutants to your home or office all the time, as they cling to your shoes, and clothes. When you bring them in, the only way they are able to leave is through the air ducts; however, without air duct maintenance, the exit for the pollutants will grow smaller and smaller.
Without the proper professional maintenance, the HVAC system in your home will more than likely hold fungi, bacteria, mold, pollen, dust mites and other biological pollutants that carry diseases. Where do they go? They circulate right back in to your home. If your HVAC system becomes contaminated enough, the bacteria will grow and your indoor air quality will plummet, putting you and your loved ones at a higher risk for allergy and breathing issues.
If you decide to choose Same Day Carpet Care, we'll be able to lower the levels of contaminants dramatically with proper air duct cleaning. By doing so, we'll get rid of the dirty air, and also save you money by allowing the HVAC system to run smoothly without strain.
Factors that Prompt Air Duct Cleaning
There are a variety of factors to take into account that will get you to think about having your air ducts professionally cleaned. Below is just a portion of what will cause air ducts to become dirty, leading to poor indoor air quality.
- Smoking or nearby smoking from neighbors
- Hair and dander from pets
- Any water damage in the home or in the air duct system, leading to contamination
- Dust or soot that's left behind from renovations or remodeling
Our Air Duct Cleaning Process
We strictly stick to the National Air Duct Cleaners Association, or NADCA, along with the Standards and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) when we clean and inspect every detail of the HVAC system. The parts of the system that we tend to are the air handler, return system, heat exchanger, coils, blower, distribution plenum, supply ductwork, and the diffusers/registers. Touching upon these key components will help ensure a thorough cleaning.
Depending on our analysis of your air ducts, we may use an EPA-registered biocide. This biocide will disinfect all the non-porous system components, and do so thoroughly without any harm to your atmosphere. From there, we'll properly identify and repair any air leaks that you have in your HVAC system, depending on your permission for us to access those certain areas.
During the cleaning process, we will thoroughly clean your air handler, return ductwork, and supply ductwork. We use the most effective and safe cleaning products, such as high-alkaline chemicals and an air-forced agitator. When we're through, we'll repair and seal all the access-openings that are cut into the ductwork. By the end of the process, we'll dust and vacuum our work area for your convenience.
